MERCITALIA SHUNTING & TERMINAL is the company of the Logistic Hub managing the Last Mile, specialized in shunting rail and maintenance of rolling stock activities, design, construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure and in the management of intermodal terminals. MERCITALIA SHUNTING & TERMINAL based in Genoa and it has about 90 sites and more than 1,000 employees on the whole ltalian territory.
The company has more than 200 locomotives for shunting rail and is able to meet the needs of Railway Undertakings and Railway lnfrastructure Operators through the complete production cycle of design, realization and maintenance of railway installations as well as handling and maintenance of rolling stock. The company has a state-of-the-art workshop for the maintenance of locomotives, it has mobile workshops, one of which is equipped with a brake test, a heavy mobile workshop and 6 rail loaders for the maintenance and construction of sidings.
Within handling and maintenance of rolling stock, MERCITALIA SHUNTING & TERMINAL provides services in stations, maintenance facilities, rail sidings, scaffolds and intermodal terminals both in freight and passenger services (Regional and Long Haul). Activities in this area have considerably intensified and registered an increase in revenue of 100% from 2012 to 2017.
Design, construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure sector experienced a remarkable development too, with a revenue increase of 238% MERCITALIA SHUNTING & TERMINAL offers also train control and composition services, first and second level maintenance of rolling stocks, revamping, design and installation of onboard technological systems for the adaptation of the Traction vehiclesto the ANSF specifications.Concerning the terminal activity, the company manages the terminals of sites equipped for intermodal transport, carrying out services at the Terminals of Pomezia Santa Palomba, Milano Smistamento, Roma Smistamento and Marcianise.

The system has been according to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008, UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards and the ANSF for the issue of the Safety Certificate.
